On December 5, the Center for Food Safety (CFS) announced that due to detection of outbreaks of highly pathogenic H5N1 avian influenza, imports of poultry meat and poultry products from the following regions is being suspended: West Flanders in Belgium, Ostprignitz-Ruppin in Brandenburg in Germany, Kagoshima prefecture in Japan, Trempealeau and Douglas Counties in Wisconsin, Sonoma County in California, Carroll County in Arkansas, Otter Tail, Brown, Big Stone, and Swift Counties in Minnesota, Sumter County in Georgia, Yankton, Brule, Kingsbury Counties and Day in South Dakota, Dickey County in North Dakota, Sioux County in Iowa, Carolina County in Maryland, and Union County in Ohio, United States, Heidland Province in Netherlands, and Gaoke in South Jeolla Province, South Korea.
