“Poultry with European Passport” campaign at SIAL CHINA 2024 trade fair

On May 28-30, the SIAL CHINA international trade fair took place at the Shanghai New International Expo Center, where the “Poultry with European Passport” campaign was also present with a stand. The experts present spread their knowledge about the high quality of European poultry. During the three days of the fair there were many B2B meetings between European and Asian representatives. The business talks concerned, among other things, the development of Polish-Chinese cooperation in the import and export of poultry. Visitors of the stand also witnessed a culinary demonstration performed by famous cook, Artur Moroz. This presentation was combined with a tasting of dishes based on the European poultry that was promoted during the fairs.

The name SIAL stands for “Salon International De L’Alimentation,” which means “International Food Exhibition.” At SIAL China, food manufacturers, traders, importers, wholesalers and retailers, as well as institutional and commercial foodservice representatives present and discover the latest products and solutions. This makes the fair especially important for newcomers who want to enter the Chinese market. It’s also a significant platform for international companies who want to engage in this dynamic environment and network with key opinion leaders on Asian market. SIAL CHina 2024 was also a unique opportunity for entrepreneurs from Asian markets to learn more about the high quality of European poultry and feathers, as well as the strict standards for their production in the European Union. More than 5,000 exhibitors from more than 70 countries participated in this year’s SIAL CHINA fairs.

On the day before the fair, May 27, part of our delegation attended the China Meat Association conference, thus taking full advantage of the visit to Shanghai. The event, titled Meat Industry Business Bridge, which returned after four years, brings together the global meat industry to explore the present and future, challenges and opportunities of meat trade, as well as to provide a platform to establish cooperation between Chinese and foreign meat industries and enterprises. Discussions held during the event included topics related to trade policy, meat imports and exports, development trends, IT-based meat industry solutions, and ideas for modernizing trade in this area.

The National Poultry Council – Chamber of Commerce is an organization of more than 80 EU producers of poultry meat, eggs, down and feathers, which supports the continued development and modernization of the European poultry industry. Attendance at SIAL fairs was one of the many initiatives of the National Poultry Council – Chamber of Commerce to promote high-quality meat from the European Union and establish business contacts with foreign investors. We encourage you to read the photo report from the event.

Last but not least, we would like to extend our sincere thanks to all the individuals, institutions and businesses involved in the “Poultry with a European Passport” campaign. With the ending of the SIAL China trade fair in Shanghai, our campaign also comes to an end. Thank you for the trust placed in us!
