“Poultry with European Passport” campaign visited the Supermarket Trade Show 2024

The Supermarket Trade Show 2024 international trade fair was held at Makuhari Messe (2 Chome-1 Nakase, Mihama Ward, Chiba, 261-8550, Japan) from February 14-16. The National Poultry Council – Chamber of Commerce, the organizer of the “Poultry with European Passport” campaign, which was present there, promoted high-quality poultry meat from the European Union. Meetings with companies visiting the fair were held with a group of our experts at a dedicated booth.

The SMTS fair is one of the most prestigious food industry fairs in the region. Attendance at this event allowed the representatives of our campaign to establish business contacts with Japanese importers, distribution networks and trade intermediaries. This year’s event showcased a selection of specialty agri-food products from more than 2,000 different companies, originating from as many as 16 countries. During the three days of the fair, the stand of the “Poultry with European Passport” campaign was visited by more than 75,000 people! Visitors could not only hold business meetings with experts and representatives of the National Poultry Council – Chamber of Commerce, but also personally convince themselves of the taste qualities of European poultry during culinary demonstrations combined with tastings, organized by a well-known and respected chef, Artur Moroz.

The Supermarket Trade Show 2024 was also a unique opportunity for entrepreneurs from Asian markets to learn more about the high quality of European poultry and feathers, as well as the strict standards for their production in the European Union. During the numerous B2B meetings that took place at the campaign booth, a delegation of EU experts met with representatives of local industry organizations. The business talks concerned, among other things, the development of Polish-Japanese cooperation in the import and export of poultry and down and feathers. They also allowed for a valuable exchange of experience and insights on the poultry industry. During the fair, the delegation, together with representatives of the National Poultry Council – Chamber of Commerce, also met with Paweł Milewski, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Poland to Japan, and Marta Szczygieł, Head of the Foreign Trade Office of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency in Tokyo.

The National Poultry Council – Chamber of Commerce is an organization of more than 80 EU producers of poultry meat, eggs, down and feathers, which supports the continued development and modernization of the European poultry industry. Attendance at SMTS fairs was one of the many initiatives of the National Poultry Council – Chamber of Commerce  to promote high-quality meat from the European Union and establish business contacts with foreign investors. We encourage you to read the photo report from the event.
